Have you ever stepped into the forest and felt your shoulders drop, your breath deepen, and your thoughts grow quieter? As a child I loved playing outdoors, and I have always felt connected to God through nature, but it's that gentle sense of peace and healing that called me to nature therapy after a surprising diagnosis. Over time, I came to understand that the forest itself can be a powerful partner in healing — not through effort or achievement, but through simple presence and connection. I want to share that with others, which is why I decided to become a certified nature therapy guide.
As a Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, I help others slow down and rediscover this connection. Through guided walks and retreats, I create spaces where people can step away from daily demands and reconnect with their inner landscape, supported by the living world around them.
Nature and Forest Therapy — sometimes called forest bathing — is a research-supported wellness practice that originated in Japan as Shinrin-yoku; though people have been finding healing in nature for centuries! It invites you to use your senses to experience nature directly: feeling the texture of bark beneath your hand, listening to birdsong layered through the trees, or noticing how sunlight shifts among the leaves and on the forest floor.
These simple invitations open the door to presence, relaxation, and reflection. Many people describe feeling more grounded, less anxious, and deeply renewed after a session. Scientific studies echo what we intuitively know — that time in nature lowers stress hormones, supports immune function, and nurtures emotional well-being.
Through Sacred Moments, I offer experiences that support both personal renewal and community connection:
Guided Forest Bathing Walks – Gentle, sensory-based walks designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and receive nature’s wisdom.
Nature-Based Retreats – Half-day, full-day, or weekend long immersive experiences that weave in mindfulness, reflection, and creative expression in nature.
Custom Sessions for Groups & Organizations – Partnering with libraries, retreat centers, wellness practitioners, corporate teams and community organizations to offer unique, restorative programs and community building.
Each experience is crafted with care, blending science and soul — grounded in evidence-based practice, but guided by the heart.
Nature therapy has been a source of profound healing in my own life. I experienced many amazing retreats that gave me the opportunity to build community, really connect with nature and practice sacred embodiment. Nature held me through challenge and change, offered peace during uncertainty, and reminded me of my belonging in the web of life and my interconnectedness with all beings. My work as a guide is a way of giving back — creating sacred moments where others can experience the same gentle transformation.
Whether you are seeking rest, renewal, or simply time to breathe, I invite you to join me outdoors. The forest is waiting — and it has so much to share.
Our next day-long retreat is on November 8th at St Francis Springs Retreat Center in Stoneville NC from 10am-4pm. Our next group forest bathing experience is on November 15th at Umstead State Park.
